Our prints
Are your prints originals or reproductions?
Most of our prints are high quality reproductions of vintage artwork, printed to order from carefully prepared scans of the original pieces. Part of the catalog is contemporary artwork created in a vintage style, rather than period material. Items in the Vintage Print Exclusives collection are different: those are original physical pieces, such as books, comics, and ephemera, sold exactly as described on their product pages.
What are the prints made on?
Every print is produced on archival matte paper at 189 g/m² (10.3 mil) with pigment inks, for a smooth, glare free finish that holds fine detail and deep color well.
What sizes do you offer?
Sizes vary by artwork, and each product page lists the sizes available for that piece. Common sizes are 12 by 18 inches and 24 by 36 inches. Some pieces are offered framed only, and a few are unframed only; the options on the product page are the ones available.
Framing
What are your frames made of?
Our frames are 0.75 inch Ayous wood from sustainably sourced forests, in Black, Red Oak, and White finishes, with a clear Acrylite front protector. Framed prints arrive with hanging hardware attached, ready to hang. Our Framing Guide covers finishes, sizing, and care in more detail.
Can I buy an unframed print and frame it myself?
Yes, wherever an unframed option is listed on the product page. Our common sizes fit standard off the shelf frames.
Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
Many of our prints include free shipping, and where it applies it is confirmed at checkout. It is not available on every item at all times, though. If an item does not include free shipping, the shipping cost is calculated at checkout before you pay, so there are no surprises. Marketplace partner items are shipped by the partner brand, and their shipping terms appear on the product page.
Where are the prints made, and where do they ship from?
We are based in New York City, and we print through a network of printing partners around the world. In most cases your print is produced by the partner nearest to where it is being shipped, which keeps delivery times down and distances short. Our fulfillment locations include the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
When will my order arrive?
Our prints are made to order, so please allow 5 to 12 business days for your order to arrive. We will email tracking once your order ships. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.
What if my package is lost?
Contact us within 30 days of the estimated delivery date and we will investigate. If the package is confirmed lost, we will send a replacement at no cost to you.
What if I entered the wrong address?
Write to us as soon as you notice. If the order is returned to us as undeliverable, we will contact you to update the address; additional shipping fees may apply for reshipment.
Returns and exchanges
What if my print arrives damaged or defective?
Contact us at support@vintageprintproject.com within 30 days of receipt with your order number and photos of the damage, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund.
Can I return a print if I change my mind or order the wrong size?
Yes, within 30 days of receipt, as long as the item is unused and in its original condition. Return shipping for change of mind returns is at the customer's expense. Once we receive and inspect the item, refunds are issued to the original payment method. Full terms are in our Returns Policy.
Marketplace items
What does "Sold and shipped by" mean on some products?
Alongside our own prints, we offer pieces from partner brands through the Vintage Print Project Marketplace. Those product pages are labelled "Vintage Print Project Marketplace Item" and carry a badge naming the brand that sells and ships the item. Marketplace items are fulfilled by the partner, so packaging and delivery timelines may vary, and they may not be eligible for all discounts. Our own prints always show "Sold and shipped by Vintage Print Project".
Orders, gifts, and trade
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Our gift cards are delivered by email and can be applied at checkout like any payment method.
Do you offer a discount for interior designers or bulk orders?
Yes. Designers, stagers, and commercial buyers can apply to our Trade Program for preferred pricing on Vintage Print Project prints.
